Recreation

We tried to go to the new J.L. Sorenson Recreation Center yesterday.

I was skeptical about getting in. It's only been open for a week now and this is only the second Saturday it's been open.  I thought we'd have a fat chance at getting in.

Look what I did, when we got there the pool was completely full. Standing room only. And. . . sure enough they wouldn't let us in. They said the pool was at capacity :( Boo - my kids were so sad :(

So. . . . . we played around for a little while

on the climbing wall. . .  . .

. . . . . . and the spin around music thingy

. . . . . . . and then decided to head over to the South Jordan Rec Center and go swimming there

we had a lot of fun.

Maybe next month we'll make it into the swimming pool at our new Rec Center.

Then Jen invited us over to celebrate her birthday with her by playing some games and having cake.

Her cake was beautiful! I was so impressed! It is so fancy. I don't know the first thing about using fondant. It makes me want to learn. Going to have to try it out.

My Big ol' B-day Sugar Cookie pales in comparison ~ ~ LOL Ü

We had fun visiting with her family and playing some games. It was a good day.

St Paddy's Day Dessert

We made a fun little dessert for St. Paddy's Day. Green frosted cupcake (representing a grassy knoll), airhead sours rainbow (representing. . . .well a rainbow) and rolo's (representing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow).

Even Zachary did one this time.

Josh was not to be outdone :D

And Hayden did not disappoint.

This dessert was lot's of fun!

May your mornings bring joy
and your evenings bring peace...
May your troubles grow less
as your blessings increase!

Happy St. Paddy's Day!!

Parent Teacher Conferences . . . . ✓

Last night Josh asked me to go online and make sure to sign up for Parent Teacher Conferences. I discovered then that Parent Teacher Conferences were the NEXT day.  Needless to say, I could not sign up for a spot.  I totally blew it!! The thing is, Josh had some areas I was concerned with and really wanted to talk to his teacher.  I figured I'd have to schedule a separate time - after school one day or at lunch or something. Which was going to have to work, because I have a head cold which has not been letting me sleep and I really didn't want to try to fit it in.

Well, today when Hayden came home he said, "Mom, mom (do you feel the sense of emergency here) . . . we have to go to Parent Teacher Conference TONIGHT at 7:30pm." I told him how I'd messed up and didn't schedule a time. He insisted we were supposed to go at 7:30pm TONIGHT!  He told me his teacher said so. I decided to trug on over AND try to fit in a meeting with Josh's teacher too. We did it! It worked out perfect!! Got them both done.

I don't have perfect report cards to share, but the kids are doing well and the best they can. It was a beneficial thing to do. Their favorite part?  The Book Fair.

Can't complain about that!!

Dinner Dishes Done

Dinner dishes began at 7:15p. Dinner dishes include: pan, cutting board, spatula, wooden spoon, three ice cream scoops (apparently each one of the boys needed to have their own ice cream scoop last night) and a knife. I washed off the table too. Dinner dishes and table cleaning complete at 7:19p!
That is 4 minutes people!!

Oh ya!!  Ü

Another Lost Tooth!

It's official - Jeffrey is the best tooth puller around. He is so gentle and quick with it. The kids are nervous but calm all at the same time. Josh's tooth was buggin' him - he was ready to have it out. He came in and said so. I told him to go to dad cause he's the best and Josh knows it.

So within a matter of minutes, the tooth was out and no tears were shed. Josh was so brave and Jeff was so quick and good.
